Special Interests
Committee on Ministry
The Committee on Ministry meets monthly. Our first order of business is to review church activities for the past month, with particular attention to complaints or disappointments expressed by members, as well as positive feedback.
Brendan and the Committee on Ministry review the list of active members for revision.
During the year, the Committee on Ministry reviewed a number of survey forms covering the gamut of church activities for possible use by our church.
The Committee on Ministry acts as advocates to the congregation and the governing board for both the minister and the Director of Religious Education. One of our major functions this year consisted of an extensive review of UUA and District materials regarding compensation packages for ministers and RE directors with varying levels of training and experience and representing different sizes of congregations and different geographic areas.
Lastly, the Committee on Ministry suggests to the
congregation that we conduct a workshop in the fall for all the church
membership to discuss and review our mission statement and to assess our degree
of success in fulfilling our stated mission, as well as discussing ways to
increase our success in future.
