RE Instructor - Dana Karuza Tulp
I wish each one of you could hear the RE children sharing during our joys and concerns. These children have been heard in their lives. They have opinions, concerns creativity, compassion, sorrows, ideas, humor and energy. What a blessing to have been welcomed with open arms into their circle. Here is a poem I shared with the kids the first day I entered their circle.
Circle of Friends
I come here as me to a circle of friends
Standing straight, strong and tall
still I find I can bend.
I can also be who I am as I learn and I growin a
circle of light with my own special glow
To my left, to my right, down below, up above
Is the circle of circles, the circle of love
And I find as I come to this circle with you
I've courage and strength for all that I do.
The open hearts of these children and their parents has made it easy and joyful to enter this new circle. The third UU principle has been the focus of our time together - The Acceptance of one another and encouragement to spiritual growth in our congregation. If anyone is interested in seeing what has been occupying out time, please come and chat in the RE room during social hour. I have created a folder with all of our past lessons for anyone to puruse. In moving forward I remind you that there are many opportunities to assist with the children. For their safety we always have two adults in the RE room. I encourage all of you to come and spend an hour with us. You will leave inspired and probably entertained. There is a sign up sheet on the wall or come and chat with me. I thank everyone who has supported the RE program thus far.
