Minister of Music - Steve Finner

Steve Finner Steve Finner is our minister of music.   He came to us as Director of Music in 2002 and in May of 2008, we celebrated his 70th birthday by installing him as our Minister of Music.  We did this in recognition of his ministry to our church in organizing and establishing our excellent small choir as well as the national recognition that has come to him to as a small church music specialist, a published composer and arranger, and his high level of involvement in the Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network.

Our choir usually sings on the second and third Sundays of the month, as well as for special events such as our December Holiday Service, rehearsing an hour or so prior to each service.  There is also a monthly potluck supper and rehearsal, usually the first Tuesday of each month.  The choir welcomes all who want to sing.  It is not required that you be able to read music as the selections Steve programs are accessible and easy to learn.  For more information about our music program, contact Steve at 802-479-5571 or stjuu-music@charter.net

"When I hear the word, I know God is dead.
When I hear the song, I know God lives.
So if you would make of me a believer, sing to me."
(c-2003 S.L. Finner)

"Expect, watch for and embrace uncertainty.
Dance with the madness of the cosmos and not against it.
Leave your door open and your heart ready for anything."
(Vanessa Rush Southern, "This Piece of Eden", UUA 2003)
