Minister - Brendan Hadash
Rev.
Brendan Douglas Hadash was born in Windsor Ontario, Canada on April 25 1951. He
received his BA in Mathematics in 1973. Having been raised a Catholic and
feeling called to ministry he attended St. Paul Seminary in Ottawa, Canada from
1974 to 1976. After leaving the Catholic seminary in 1976 due to his liberal
theological views, he went to the Unitarian Church of Ottawa. He immediately
felt that he had found his spiritual home and was thrilled to find an entire
congregation of open, seeking, liberal people.
In 1977 he began to consider returning to his original dream of the ministry
and served as an informal intern minister at the Ottawa church.
In 1978 he enrolled at Starr King School for the Ministry in Berkeley,
California where he received his Master of Divinity in the fall of 1981. He was
also ordained that fall by his home church in Ottawa.
From January 1982 to June 1986 he served as extension minister to Derby Line
and West Burke, Vermont and North Hatley, Quebec, Canada.
He worked for a number of years as an activity director in several nursing and
retirement homes.
In 1997 he was called as minister of Saint Johnsbury Universalist
Unitarian Congregation.
